been working the polls the past 2 days and waking up incredibly early...and no, not incredibly early for me, but even for you early birds out there...yah, 5 and 7 am. sheesh. insane. didn't know it was THAT cold in the mornings here. and i suppose its probably due to the fact that i normally wake up in the pm. bleh. i had polling duty yesterday from 8-10 am and i was freezing my ass off outside of soda/etcheverry. it took me 3+ hours afterwards in a warm room to finally warm up. bleh.
today, i was prepared. i had to be at soda/etcheverry from 6-11am...and what did i wear? a long sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, pj pants underneath a pair of sweats, a scarf, and gloves. yah, it was THAT cold and I was still turning into a human popsicle sitting out there. *sigh*. apparently getting paid to do nothing involved freezing your ass off. had i known i'd be freezing my ass off, perhaps i would have thought twice about working as a poll worker for asuc elections...ehh...easy money though.
but i think, the worst thing about it all is that it actually gets pretty warm in the early afternoon, exactly the time i'm done with my shift. i see everyone around campus wearing summer clothes and i feel so retarded because i get hella strange looks from people because i'm dressed like i just got back from alaska or something. geebus.
even after working a few days at the polls, i'm surprised at how many people out there don't know how to use a laptop. is it that hard to put the power button?
