Horray for 6 Days in NY
So the weekend after Seattle, I decided to fly east. What was originally planned as a trip out to the east coast for the Boo Boo Bear's bday became more of a 1-month-later-4th-of-July-combination-long-ass-weekend trip. Although it was scorchering hot (can't forget the humidity either), I had a great time! Patty Watty picked me up at the airport on Thursday night and I worked from within the Xanga office on Friday. It was very cool to be sitting near Patrick all day long doing work. I definitely wouldn't mind doing that again.
Surprisingly, John Meehan and Oliva were in NYC the same time too. Didn't get a chance to meet up with Oliva but got a chance to hang out with John. Funny, we are both based out of SF yet the only time I've seen John since graduation (1 year ago) is in NYC! Anyhow, met his co-worker Audrey and we had dinner at a cute Thai place that Calliea picked out and later went to Hop Devil in St. Mark's for some beer. Jen Lee joined us up as well as some other folks from Berkeley. Too bad Patrick was working all night. He didn't get off til 3am!
Woke up late on Saturday and did a lil shopping. Had stupid drama at an Express store but whatever. Ate dinner at this pretty good lil Italian restaurant near Patrick's apartment and shared an entire bottle of red wine! MMmmmMM red wine! My new love. Yes Patrick, you've been replaced. LoL. jk jk!
Later on Saturday night, went to the same club I went to back in January..forgot the name..but definitely over that place. Can we go somewhere new next time kids? I convinced Dave Chen (yes, there are so many!), Boo Boo's coworker, to come with us. He said he had fun...I don't know though. I hope he did!
Sunday did some more shopping...but not for me of course! It was fun to go into the stores and pick out stuff for Patrick to try on and model for me. Heh. NO, he did NOT model underwear for me. hahaha. Several times I had to have an employee at the store rip the shorts/shirt off from the mannequin because there were no more stuff in his size. It was pretty funny because I just walked around going "I want that! Can I get this please? I want to see that one!". I think Patrick was scared...Watched The Breakup later on that night. I heard it was high-larious but I just thought it was OK. The yelling scenes seemed a bit too real. Could have been funnier, I think.
Went to a museum on Monday. It was pretty interesting.
We'll just leave it at that. Also went to go eat at Buddakan (www.buddakanny.com). I saw this place when I was reading In Style on the plane over and was like omg! I so have to eat there! Luckily I was able to get an RSVP for 4 (Calliea, Trace, Snugglemufffins, Moi). Un-luckily, Snuggles and I got there an hour late and pissed off Calliea and Trace...SORRY!!! Play Cranium for the first time that night. Though we were victorious, Snuggles should never be allowed to sculpt stuff anymore...ever.
Tuesday was a sad day. Back to CA I went. We were gonna go on a cupcake excursion but all the damn cupcake places were closed for the holiday. Damn you lazy cupcake makers, damn you.
Anyway, time for pictures. Sorry there isn't a lot. It was too hot to take pictures and plus I forgot to bring it with me most of the time.
Me and the Boos at Breeze (a cute Thai/French restaurant)
Calliea and Tracy laughing. Cranium is awesome.
Frog legs and Edamame Dumplings at Buddakan
A rare picture of the Boos showing some teeth and looking soOoOooO happy. Normally he just half-asses the smiles or grins. Heh.
