• 6 years of birthday celebrations

  while staring at my happy birthday tiara i got from work today, i started thinking back to all the birthdays i've had that's been memorable.  i guess i can't really specifically recall anything prior to my 18th birthday...most of it was the usual thing - dinner, hanging out, ice skating, movies, whatevers.  but all the fun started when i turned 18 (surprise, surprise) and i've summarized them for you, including a ranking of them from 1-10 below:

  18th:
  -heh. got in a big argument with kim b/c that ungrateful girl didn't even wish me happy birthday
  -i remember it was a monday or wednesday, because i recall doing plenty of liners at badminton practice and then going out to eat at Applebees with emery, oliva, eddie, michael, vicky, pablo, mike bautista, etc. after practice
  -later on that night, i went out with ****, had a couple of apple martinis at texas roadhouse (yes, i was 18 and not 21 but that's the perks of going out with an older guy), got a bit tipsy, then proceeded to watch a horrible movie at the century theaters in union city
  Rating:  9.5 - i must say, nothing beats getting tipsy when you are underaged and with a cute guy
  
  I don't have any pictures from my 18th birthday so I'm just going to stick
  a picture of me, oliva, and emery from christmas time one year
  
  19th:
  -either frank or felicia called me cause they were coming to my dorms in berkeley to celebrate my birthday and to bring me a cake.  i remember i had been pretty tired from that day and so i was ready to retire early on in the night. 
  -i thought it was just frank and felicia coming but when they knocked on the door, it was the entire gamma lil sis class!  like. seriously.  the entire class.  i was so surprised everyone was all there!  nutso! 
  -needless to say, my 2 jewish roommates were astounded to see a room full of asian people!  lol
  -jen blindfolded me and stole me away to dine at Tony Romas.  what i didn't know was that there in the backseat of jen's lil buggy was marilyn, karen, and tracy...silent the entire way down to union city...to act as a surprise for me when i got out of the car. 
  Rating:  8.5 - it was a nice surprise to see everyone there!  yay gammas!  marilyn, karen, and tracy silent in the backseat was quite the funny as well!
  
  
  I don't have any pictures from my 19th birthday either so I'm just going
  to stick a picture of the gamma class from our lil scavenger hunt in SF.

  
  20th:
  -jen took me out to dinner at pasta pomodoro.  deb did not think it was odd that dinner was just going to be her and jen.
  -deb did find it funny how random people knew it was her birthday coming up (thanks to the secret evite jen sent out)
  -jen took deb back to the blake apt.  deb was surprised to find marilyn's room light off and the entire house dark.  naturally, deb wondered where everyone went and thought it would be sad if no one was home.
  -deb and jen enters house.  deb walks up the stairs and to her surprise, freakin everyone was in the living room and the entire place was decorated in streamers, balloons, a big sign, and not to mention, bacardi 151.
  -had 2 cakes!  1 rasberry and 1 mango.  i love you friends!
  -tracy, pointing to my new dvd player-"look!  it's blue!  it lights up blue when you turn it on!"  me, drunk as hell and looking at my new dvd player-"[thinking in my head] blue?? what the f*ck is she talking about?  the freakin dvd is silver!  or at least i think its silver...wait blue?  what's blue?  what is she talking about??!?!?"
  -threw up like mad in my lil barnyard of a bathroom and wouldn't let anyone near me
  -massive, massive hangover the next day
  Rating:  10 - a surprise party?!!! i've never had a surprise party before ever and i was SOOO surprised!    definitely one of the best birthdays!

  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  yes, i finally have pictures from a birthday!

  21th:
  -the year where i had 3 birthday parties and celebrated every weekend in the month of april:  1 party at home, 1 party with close friends, 1 party with everyone and their mamas
  -first and last time i will ever throw a massive house party with a dj
  -someone stole the effing tap off the keg of beer cindy and i leased
  -crazy freakin ass cleanup...including getting black shoe marks off our walls
  -got plastered at Qcup in milpitas where calliea dared me to run around the parking lot topless (i DIDN'T CONCUR)
  -was throwing up like mad in the toilet at home and my mom laughed at me
  Rating:  9.5 - what can i say, celebrating your birthday for the entire month of april is great fun...but throwing up and cleaning up after the party dropped this down from 0.5 of a point.

   
  again, it appears that i don't have any pictures from my 21st birthday...for some strange reason...so here are pictures from junior year.  the first picture is from mar's birthday but we'll just pretend its from my 21st birthday   the last picture is just such a damn funny picture of sarah from junior year that i just had to stick it in here for kicks.  don't hate me sarah! 

  22nd:
  -roomates and jen bought me an asian cake since i don't do ice cream cakes  
  -parents came up to the durant apt. to bring me a cake and sing happy birthday too!
  -went to burgstone's stupid ieor 171 crap class a lil hammered...after tossing back a few beers with sammy (and some other folk i can't remember) at the bear's lair.  too bad i never went to class hammered before, boy did i sure get a lot of participating points that day for talking!
  -hmm..this was the interesting birthday year.  had my party at asiasf (www.asiasf.com) and it was a blast!
  -got pretty plastered off the drinks there and had an awesome time watching hot transvestites perform
  -was forced to do a "blow job shot" (you'll see those horrendous pictures below) off a really hot tranny...and boy was i super, super, super embarrassed. 
  -danced the night away at the miniature club they had below the restaurant.  the bartender hooked it up with free drinks cause it was my birthday. 
  Rating:  10 - great night of fun, dancing, entertainment, good food and drinks , great company, and most of all, no puking!!!

   
  amazing how i have so many pictures from this night. heh.  OooOOH you blow job shot, how i love thy.  it tasted like scooby snacks :O

  23rd:
  -did nothing.  absolutely nothing.  it was really, quite sad.
  -no cake, no 'happy birthday' song except from the pwc (aka patty watty cakes aka the boyfriend)
  -no one at work knew/remembered it was my birthday.  i even baked cupcakes and brought them in for everyone too.
  Rating:  1 - how can you rate something that essentially never happened?    needless to say, there were no pictures from this night 1 year ago. 

  24th:
  -so far so great!  had a great day at work.  got to wear a birthday tiara and the vegas crew (aka swathi, gina, and my) took me out to lunch at a really good tapas place.
  -everyone wished me happy birthday, including the Ops director in our meeting this afternoon
  -went to go eat at Ray's Sushi and had really good beef tataki
  -felicia got me a really yummy passion fruit cake.  yay!
  -the pwc serenaded me on my voice mail
  -so many folks texted/imed/emailed/called/wrote on my facebook wall.  THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE WONDERFUL WISHES!!! i'm so surprised so many people remembered and/or cared!  i you all.  you are the bestest!
  Rating:  n/a - i shall provide an update after saturday has passed.  i can promise you there will be pictures as well   already though, i'm going to have to give it a -1pt since no one from the NY-Boston area can make it back (*ahem ahem*).
