The past 2 weeks have been a traveling frenzy!!! Horray for weekend trips!
Seattle
Contrary to popular opinion, Seattle is NOT cloudy and raining all the time. Well, maybe it's cause I went on an abnormally gorgeous weekend, but still. It's my new favorite place and if I knew people who lived there or there was a job opportunity there, I would definitely go. It's so luciously green and beautiful. I love the fact that there's so much outdoor stuff to do and see for FREE! Being surrounded by water is a definite +. Also, who can forget, Seattle is where Grey's Anatomy (although fictional) is "set" (the real set is probably in LA somewhere-*sadness*). Anyhow, here's so pictures!

How cool is this picture?!?!?! It's Snoqualmie Falls-roughly a 30 minute drive from Seattle. Apparently it's much bigger than Niagra Falls. Twas my very first super big waterfall. YIPPEEE.

Me at the top, near this lookout point. I was very happy to be there as you can see. Heh.

We had to climb down the trunks of some trees and down some rocks to get closer to the waterfall. This is an awesome picture at the base of the waterfall...and there's Alan...being the big dork that he is. It was fun just sitting out there, eating dried mangoes and soaking up some rays. Very relaxing and serene. I loved it!

A super good dessert we got at Black Bottle. Not too sweet chocolate cake with fudge and caramel on the outside (walnuts on top) and super good vanilla ice cream on the inside. To all you people out there, if you ever go to Seattle, you MUST eat at Black Bottle. Serving super good tapas ($8/plate), the quantity you get is sufficient and the food is very, very, very delicious! Gotta try their mojitos too. The best I've ever had!

A breathtaking view of the city from Queen Anne's point. Seriously, to get to where we were to take this shot only required like 15 minutes of driving away from the city. What I love about Seattle is that it doesn't take an hour to go out to the suburbs or nature. You can live in the city and it only takes a short drive before you are one with nature. Likewise, if you live in the suburbs and feel the need to get crunked, it only takes 15-20 mins or so to go to a bar in the city.

At the very first Starbucks ever! I was super excited-even though I don't drink coffee and didn't get anything either when I visited this store...oh well! hahaa

The flagship Starbucks store from the outside. Looks very different these days, huh?

Doing the tourist thing and taking a picture in front of Pike Place Market.

Jumbo lobster tails and shrimps and crab legs at Pike Place Market.

It's a super tall totem pole! Check out the clear blue skies!!!

A cruise liner ship at the waterfront. Just thought the backdrop scenery was super cool. See the mountains with all the snow on it still in the background??

The crazy Seattle library in downtown. The whole building is like this weird geometric shape and this is the very top of the structure. People can study in this quiet study area. Being in this library really made me want to study...hahaha. joking...

This is the book drop off thing at the library. What's super cool about it is it's sensor automated and so if you stand in front of it, the drop off bin automatically opens to reveal a conveyor belt where you would place the books you want to return. The conveyor belt then moves the books up through the top and around the side (which you can't see from this picture) and dumps it into a bin at the check in counter inside the library. How cool!!!

The Troll that lives under the Aurora bridge. hehehe. Isn't this cool?! Some artists decided to build a troll underneath this bridge on Troll Ave. I thought it was funny.

Here's the troll again, except it's sniffing up Alan's head and I'm pickin it's nose. hehe.

Did you know Nordstrom's was the name of the brilliant dude who started the retail store and that the Nordstrom flagship store is in Seattle? I'm pointing at him in the picture. This was taken at the end of the Underground Tour that Alan and I went on. It was pretty cool to learn about some of the history of Seattle and how the difference in height of the roads and sidewalks used to be about 10 feet at some point. So yeah, basically, the sidewalks would be 10 feet LOWER than the roads and you had to climb up stairs to cross the streets. Nuts.

And to all you Grey's Anatomy lovers out there, I saw this street sign and had to take a picture of it. oOooOH poor poor Denny. He was a great guy. :::tear:::. hahaha.
I think that's too much reading and picture viewing for now. I'll update on NYC later on.
