so the latest updates:
1. teachers lightened up the load a bit because so many students were complaining about lack of sleep due to the heavy amounts of work. thank god. now maybe i won't feel guilty for enjoying my meals instead of speed racing through it so that i can get back to studying. god, what has taiwan done to me.
2. jay chou concert exactly a week ago was so awesome. i've only heard of him back at home but didn't know any of his songs until i came here and they played it 24-7 at xi men ding and at every store too. haha i now know the reason for that, and that is because he is JUST SO DAMN GREAT. hhahahaa. the concert was so awesome. i've never been to a concert in taiwan, and i must say, its pretty different from american ones. people HELLA sing along to the songs and like, they don't scream as loud. ahaha. people also have hella like glowing stuff (those glow tube things like on halloween and those bracelets and like other glow sticks that you would see at like, disney on ice or something...) and they wave it to the beat of the music. hahaa. pretty interesting i might say. i wasn't expecting much from the concert at all, and at one point when i was sitting in the stadium in the rain for 2 hours, i was really contemplating going home, but wow...it totally cleared up right when he started and stayed such a wonderous evening for the duration of the concert-3 whole hours of him singing. it was fantabulous. i love jay chou now. =) mucho thankos to mimi and others for waiting overnight in the rain just so that we would have good "seats" (the tickets we got were the most expensive, yet only $32, and it was like at the front where you stood the whole time-pretty tiring but well worth it!)
3. took 3rd place in the women's singles badminton tournament at tai da. hahahaha. it was awesome because the tournament was organized by the school team and afterwards, they all asked me to practice with them. hehehe. i feel like i'm back in high school because the practices are actually practices and not just like playing games or anything. its pretty cool.
4. tutoring has been cool. i love all my tutorees and its great not having to resort to the atm and just use the money that i earn. hahaha. it feels like i'm basically not spending anything at all! greatness.
5. i think i'm losing weight but i still feel fat compared to the people here...what the hell do they eat then??!!! geebus...
6. thanks to hau for hooking it up with some pretty cool friends in taiwan. met up with edward, mike, and ryan on friday. had dinner with them and a bunch of other med students (it was a med student dinner outting) and then headed over to the patio lounge at warner village. after that, went to some 24 hour dim sum place and came home at 5 am! hahaha its pretty crazy because the med program here works in a way where you go straight to med school after high school for 7 years and afterwards, you get your degree. how nutso is that? AND, in their anatomy class, they friggin dissect dead human corpses. i did NOT know that. how gross. yeah, i can never become a doctor. BUT i can marry one...hahahahaha j/k j/k j/k. i sense a bunch of comments coming my way...
7. calliea, ang, bkptc, and alan are all mean mean mean. hahaha. such rumors they start. sheesh. jerkasses!
