since its friday and i have some free time to kill in between finishing my lunch and falling asleep to a movie in my bed, it is time for some more pictures!!! yay!
International BBQ:
you would think since its an international bbq, we'd be posing and making friends with other international students...ehh..nope not really. so bad. haha. chinese people bbq hella weird. i guess no one's ever heard of a bbq grill here cause all they use are like...small like hotpot sized grill things to bbq on so that it takes like years before your food is ready. nevertheless, still an interesting experience.

year long corn...hahaha

mar, dave, me, to, helen

TypHOon MAdnESs!
on sunday evening, while sitting at my desk doing some homework, i hear crazy ruckus going on down the hall and lots of screaming and cheering. apparently, because of the typhoon hitting taipei, school was cancelled for monday. how great is that?! hahaa its kinda like a snow-in, except living in nor cal all my life, we were never fortunate enough to have a snow-in. but yes, everyone went nuts on the floor cause we had extra day of no school. no school=good stuff. yay! instead of going to 7-11 to stock up on essential needs in case of a real emergency, people stocked up on alcohol. haha. helen and i on the other hand...
we decided to dress up like dave (helen) and to (me). hahaha. sorry that its sideways...couldn't get it right side up...yes, berkeley engineer.

wooooooord! yes, crazy weather invokes crazy behavior...

here is mimi all ready for the typhoon. hehe looks like she is being treated for an contagious airbourne disease or something..

Bowling
Oh dave...you never learn. here are some bowling pictures from the night dave lost BIG TIME to me, the champion. he has yet to buy me my shabu-shabu dinner. hmMMMm...marinated meat....hmMMMM capatina ice cream...

Marilyn's 21st
Happy birthday woman. hope it was a good one. prepare to die tonight at VS. i kid you not, someone is praying to the porcelin god tonight and its not me...

Oh the wonderful world o clubbing:
this is at condom world right next to luxy...yes, condom world. they have a variety of assorted condoms that are quite...intricate. hahaha.

this is also another night at luxy, except this time, it gets raided by the cops and we have to file out of the club and file back in...so instead, we skipped out on going back in and went eating instead!

trampede!!! hahaha. ehh, given the amount of people there, it could have been a lot worse

this one is outside of plush inside the living mall. i like plush but its a lil too small.

ladies night at room 18. our first time clubbing on a school night since school started. saaaaaad saaaaaaad stuff. hmm..dunno why this pix is so small.

thats my roomate angels in the background. hahaha

the other beautiful ladies of course
. i forgot my id that night and had to borrow jessica's passport. hahaha

OooH MOS. everytime i go there i have a great time. it was cool this time because dave's friend mike got us a table in the vip section. way cool. plus this time, everyone went and so there was about 20 of us all together (except not everyone is in this picture). so much fun. plus the d.j was way awesome. i loved his mixes. hehe.

inside the bathroom of MOS

haha. doesn't this picture look familar? i think its going to be a tradition-going to lai lai dou jiang everytime after clubbin at MOS hahaha.

good dining:
we went to lawry's at the living mall for to's birthday. yum, prime rib. i must say though, HOPR is still better. it was awesome b/c 3+ students, one person is complimentary. haha. so we decided to go back in groups of 3. hehee
before the meat...

...after the meat

THE MEAT. YUM. medium rare, the only way to get prime rib!!! i'm hungry again now...bleh

ktv- the life of a fob:
yup, haha my first time at ktv in taiwan...my second time ever hahaha. its pretty awesome. the place looks like a hotel room and the food is swell!
thats the two midgets of the trip, julia gulia and pansy

me and the mams.

to serenading me and helen

gonna dress up like sydney bristow (alias, in case you didn't know) for halloween! hahaha the outfit she wore on the pilot episode where she's dressed in all black and wearing a red wig and a black beanie. hehehee. =P
happy birthday to mona lee chan (oct 24), emery (oct 25), and meeeeeeeerlyn (oct 26). hehe. we are getting old. =(
oh. and gotta love the typhooning season. school was cancelled today because of it. haha last night when we found out, people went nuts on the hall and instead of stocking up on ramen and food at 7-11, people stocked up on alcohol. hahah. gooooood stuff. everyone was up til like 5 or 6 am last night on the floor. hehehe. now i know how those kids feel when they have a snow-in. hehehe

got a digi cam today. dropped $450 on it with a 128 mb memory card so that i can take lots and lots and lots of pictures. hahaa. i'm very excited. hehee. much thanks to ting-ting and alice for going with me and barganing it with the dude who would not budge whatsoever at first. ahhaha but after 1 hour of chatting and negotiating, we got our way. yippeeeeee! i love my camera...its too awesome. yes, this is my very first digi cam because i've always been anti-digi cam since i never thought the quality of the pictures came out as good as good old film...but this camera is way sharp and clear! you can zoom forever and it has widescreen lcd option. muahaha. at first i was going for the casio Z40 because it looked cute and everything but then i opted to go for quality instead of camera design and opted with my fujifilm finepix camera. hehe. the camera can turn into a webcam and you can even record up to 4 mins of video! damn, wish i got this camera before i went to jay chou's concert. blaaaaaaaah
originally i was only wanting to spend about $300 on one but then after thinking about it, if i could drop $500 on a skirt, i think i can drop $450 on a digital camera, right? ;P
i shall post some pictures that i'll be taking later on so stay tuned! hehee.

weekend was good.
friday: played a lil badminton, went to go eat with my mom's old junior high school friend and his son (i think she's trying to cook up something here...), got helen's bike stolen at gong guan, so now i'm gonna have to walk everywhere again (yes folks, i did ride a bike here), partied it up at plush for FREE b/c of tracy and the boys she meets at these places, came home, and woke up late for tutoring saturday.
saturday: cabbed it to the front of the school cause i was already so late for tutoring, went to wu fen po and shopped around with merlyn, pheebs, ting ting and cindy, bought nothing...was kinda upset but thats ok...i'm trying to think outside of the island when it comes to fashion, went to some international bbq and then headed to bowling, beat dave (130 to 91) and now he owes me a hella good ass hot-pot dinner muahaha. it was at first going to be dinner at lawry's but yeah, oh well. i'll save him some $. hahaha. when is he going to admit that i'm better than him at EVERYTHING? seriously...he's already lost to me in like blackjack, hearts, air hockey...geebus. hahaha. when is this ucla kid going to learn??
sunday: had some not so good thai food, was sad cause sogo didn't have anymore chocolate chip capatina ice cream, went to ximending and it was crowded like none other...never going there again on a weekend, went to tutor, met up with merlyn and tracky at gong guan and bought a pair of shoes.
sorry if that was a boring entry...but hey, i lead a boring life.
we are going to have a halloween party here...think i'm going to dress gothic. hahaha -
went to badminton practice today and apparently i don't know how to do any of the footwork in badminton....i'm very disturbed by this. yeah, i admit i never learned it in high school, but how is it so impossible for me to get down a friggin footwork drill right? i don't get it...the girls were like teaching me for like 30 minutes. i'd be hella frusterated after like 5 minutes if i was them. geez...ugh. this is damn annoying...discovering that you aren't really good at something you thought you were at least half-way decent in...oh god...my world is falling apart.

so the latest updates:
1. teachers lightened up the load a bit because so many students were complaining about lack of sleep due to the heavy amounts of work. thank god. now maybe i won't feel guilty for enjoying my meals instead of speed racing through it so that i can get back to studying. god, what has taiwan done to me.
2. jay chou concert exactly a week ago was so awesome. i've only heard of him back at home but didn't know any of his songs until i came here and they played it 24-7 at xi men ding and at every store too. haha i now know the reason for that, and that is because he is JUST SO DAMN GREAT. hhahahaa. the concert was so awesome. i've never been to a concert in taiwan, and i must say, its pretty different from american ones. people HELLA sing along to the songs and like, they don't scream as loud. ahaha. people also have hella like glowing stuff (those glow tube things like on halloween and those bracelets and like other glow sticks that you would see at like, disney on ice or something...) and they wave it to the beat of the music. hahaa. pretty interesting i might say. i wasn't expecting much from the concert at all, and at one point when i was sitting in the stadium in the rain for 2 hours, i was really contemplating going home, but wow...it totally cleared up right when he started and stayed such a wonderous evening for the duration of the concert-3 whole hours of him singing. it was fantabulous. i love jay chou now. =) mucho thankos to mimi and others for waiting overnight in the rain just so that we would have good "seats" (the tickets we got were the most expensive, yet only $32, and it was like at the front where you stood the whole time-pretty tiring but well worth it!)
3. took 3rd place in the women's singles badminton tournament at tai da. hahahaha. it was awesome because the tournament was organized by the school team and afterwards, they all asked me to practice with them. hehehe. i feel like i'm back in high school because the practices are actually practices and not just like playing games or anything. its pretty cool.
4. tutoring has been cool. i love all my tutorees and its great not having to resort to the atm and just use the money that i earn. hahaha. it feels like i'm basically not spending anything at all! greatness.
5. i think i'm losing weight but i still feel fat compared to the people here...what the hell do they eat then??!!! geebus...
6. thanks to hau for hooking it up with some pretty cool friends in taiwan. met up with edward, mike, and ryan on friday. had dinner with them and a bunch of other med students (it was a med student dinner outting) and then headed over to the patio lounge at warner village. after that, went to some 24 hour dim sum place and came home at 5 am! hahaha its pretty crazy because the med program here works in a way where you go straight to med school after high school for 7 years and afterwards, you get your degree. how nutso is that? AND, in their anatomy class, they friggin dissect dead human corpses. i did NOT know that. how gross. yeah, i can never become a doctor. BUT i can marry one...hahahahaha j/k j/k j/k. i sense a bunch of comments coming my way...
7. calliea, ang, bkptc, and alan are all mean mean mean. hahaha. such rumors they start. sheesh. jerkasses!
